You may remember games such as Resident Evil or even Silent Hill.  When you played these games you may have played them with the curtains closed, with the lights turned off, in a dark room for dramatic effect.

Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter has certainly had the Hollywood touch it sounds and looks as any war game should do.  To explain when I was approaching the American Embassy in one of the game missions the American Embassy was blown up, the game character was knocked off his feet as a result with the control pad rumbled.  Without being able to anticipate this, I leaped out of my seat in shock. All I can say is.... "Wow!".

I have not had an interactive moment like that with a video games, for a very, very long time.  Reminisant of horror games such as Silent Hill, some readers may be familiar with this; if you played the part of the game before you let your friend play, as you guide your friend round the game, eagerly waiting in anticipation for them to scream like a girl and leap from the chair, when something spooks them in the game.

As a war game based in Mexico City, it is frightenly realistic to the horrors of war, where snipers lurk at every corner.  With the city being created clearly and easily with the power of the next generation console, you can see the city buildings for miles around from the view from the gun position in the Black Hawke, This game is similar to Apocalypse Now or even Black Hawke Down.

The game is itself, it surprisingly straight forward to get into, the game has a great balance of not being too complicated with the role of being in the battle or commanding soldiers, support crew such as tanks or attack helicopters. Simply point and choose up or down on the D-pad.  It is that simple.  They have the balanced the control/command just about right in my opinion.

With you commanding other members of your 4 man squad, you also control a UAV recon unit which is like a small remote control flying saucer which can pin points the enemy position on your gaming HUD. Without harming you or your team. Also for a longer shelf life the normal game setting is quite a challenge, with looking for cover at every opportunity.

To finish, this game rocks, Ubisoft have a great game on there hands here, I am of to play G.R.A.W some more, and I suggest you do to.
